D12 Youth Advisory Board

Mission:

In efforts to continue to plant seeds, cultivate them, and watch them grow, D12 Foundation created a Youth Advisory Board made of high school leaders from diverse communities. We are driven with a community-focused outlook and our mission is to identify challenges students face within their educational system and community, strategize to meet these challenges, and implement initiatives that will benefit both the student and their community while inspiring their peers to follow.

Vision:

We want to help strengthen our community and focus on the issues youth face in their everyday lives. If we can eliminate unhappiness by simply aiding to the community then we are succeeding in our missions.

Our 3 main goals FIT with our mission and vision to strengthen our community.

Youth Advisory Board Inaugural “Keeping Orlando Warm” Coats Drive

It’s hard for most of us to imagine not being able to obtain something as simple as a toothbrush, clothing, or even food. Homeless youth and families face this challenge of obtaining these items on a daily basis. It can be easy to take things for granted like staying dry in the rain or warm in the cold. As a blessed community our job is to give back to those who need help. In efforts to conquer the challenges our homeless endure the D12 Foundation Youth Advisory Board (YAB) will host the Inaugural Keeping Orlando Warm Coats Drive. The Coats Drive will launch Friday, December 7th through Monday, December 17th. After the 10 day drive is completed D12 Foundation’s YAB will distribute the coats to homeless youth and families on Saturday, December 22nd at 2:00pm at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission and the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.
